Analysis from a .DWG or .PXF file

Analysis from a .DWG or .PXF file - 12/01/16 04:18 AM

Hello everyone,

I know that Caesar II enables the user to bring a design from a CAD software to analyse it.
But is it possible to do the same with Autocad 3D or OpenPlant ? Can the user convert and export it to CAESAR with all the input (diameter, pressure, allowables, etc.), in order to make analysis ?

In this case, could you please explain me how should I do ?

Thank you.

Regards,

If those CAD packages create a PCF file, then yes. There is an option to import a PCF file on the Interface menu/ribbon.

Thank you for you answer.
In our company, we use Openplant (Bentley), and Autocad for CAD.
These two softwares don't create PCF files.
I've searched during hours to find how to convert into .PCF files from these two softwares, but I found nothing usefull.

Do you know how should I do ?

Thank you.

You would need AutoCAD Plant 3D to export from AutoCAD to PCF.

My experience with Plant 3D's pcf files are that the more the designer makes changes to the pipe throughout the design, the less likely you can import it into CAESAR.
