VIBRATION BOILER FEED WATER PUMP SYSTEM - 08/27/16 01:41 AM

Hello Stresser,
I 'm having vibration trouble on suction and discharge line boiler feed water pump, vibration only when the condition of a minimum flow / full kick back only (shut the discharge valve). Is there ever experienced it ? if I count on the natural frequency of the excitation frequency is already over.
Process condition:
Suction pressure: 2.9 kgf/cm2G
Discharge pressure: 160 kgf/cm2G
Kick back line pressure: 4,8 kgf/cm2G
Temperatur: 78 C
Pump RPM: 2980

Thanks,

It sounds like a hydraulic problem before a stress problem.

Have you ruled out cavitation?
What's the vapor pressure of the fluid?
Where is the suction pressure measured?
Where is the fluid being redirected once the discharge is blocked? To the pump inlet? Is the pump being shut off when the discharge is blocked? If not, how long are they running it after it's been blocked off?

For preventive the cavitation problem I had already venting the line before operation.

Suction pressure is measured using a pressure gauge.

when the discharge valve is closed, fluid is routed back to the deaerator as in the sketch below and running for three hours after it's been blocked off.
