User defined material

User defined material - 04/06/16 02:56 AM

We have user defined the material in CAESAR.
We can select that material in CAESAR piping file (C2).
But while performing WRC, we are not able to select that material.

So is it possible to User defined the material for WRC?
If Yes, then How?
If No, then how to perform a WRC for material not added in CAESAR library?

The CAESAR II WRC107 processor does not use the same material database as the material limits used in these local stress calculations do not match the typical Sc & Sh or Sy used by the piping codes.
The WRC processor has a much more detailed and complete database. If your material is not provided, you can enter your values as part of your input.

In our case the nozzle material is SA 299 A.
When we select this material in WRC 107 window, it shows the warning
"Could not determine the yield stree for this material. Please select the correct material from yield stress database."

Now then how I can enter the values for this material?

Go ahead and accept that material anyway. Then type in your own value for "Yield Stress, Design".

Still we are not able to type "Yield stress, Design" in that window.
Will you please elaborate how to add this for Caesar 5.3?

The yield stress value is actually not used in the WRC 107/297 analysis. It is there as it shared from CodeCalc. You can ignore that message. It is an annoyance more than anything. We have addressed this in the next version of CAESAR II.
