Vibration on 24" Line and Dynamic Support selection - 02/19/16 01:59 AM

Hi to all,

We are dealing with a project requiring the solution of flow induced vibration problems occurring on a 24” Process Line. In a nutshell, the case we are dealing with is as follows:

a.Flow induced vibration occurring on a 24” Process Line
b.Line operating at 420oC with external Insulation of 140 mm.
c.The Frequency of the observed vibration is quite low (less than 3 Hz) as identified through power spectra provided in terms of acceleration, velocity and displacement at several pipe locations.
d.The Lateral peak-to-peak vibration displacement (in both axes) is of the order of 1.7 mm at around 1.8 Hz.
e.The Dynamic Load at the locations we intend to install Dynamic Supports is relatively small (below 10 kN) while the pipe thermal displacements at the same locations are quite large (50 mm in both axes)

Our intention is to install some rigid piping supports to restraint the line in the area of the observed vibrations and in addition some other one of dynamic type.

As far is concern the dynamic supports, can you suggest a typical product to address such vibration effects; Have you ever face a case like this, or similar, and which type of dynamic support you have select (i.e vendor, type etc.)

Thank you all,

Anybody help me same situation happened my case also...anybody come across the such vibration effect, and which type of dynamic support we can use. kindly advice please....

Thanks.

Edevor,

From your description it seems that a hydraulic arrestor would do the job.

Try googling 'Lisega' or 'Carpenter and Paterson' for product information.

MoverZ thank you for the reply; Lisega is one of our priorities.
Have you ever try the implementation of "Hyspan Barco" Products. Judjing from their catalog, they appear "promissing" for the purpose.
Once more thank you.
