an interview question - 08/04/06 07:57 AM
One of my friend had an interview and they asked him: how do you make allowance for thermal expansion for the pipes on a rack?
My answer to him was make some vertical loops by changing the elevation of the rack and the pipes.
i said this because when we run a horizontal loop the pipe with the higher temperature may would collide with the other pipes during operation, unless we make enough gap between them. The width of the pipe is of consideration.
please guide me if i'm wrong or suggest an answer
