thermal bowing end moment formula - 02/11/15 12:05 AM

Hello Richard & dave,

I just searched through the forum regarding thermal bowing calculation for bending moment on each element in caesar ii.

Can you please elaborate which formula caesar is using for end moments at each element when we provided delta T in special execution parameter.

Thanks

Experts,

Please provide the end moments equation/formula for thermal bowing.

Thanks

I'm not really sure if my answer is correct...But I think when the pipe is subjected to thermal bowing it will experience some sort of a buckling (basically the top of pipe maybe in hotter condition than the bottom of pipe)...So I think of the end moment as using the buckling formula I don't know which particular formula it is...For thermal bowing, check support lift-offs due to this effect and evaluate the hot sustained case..

Thanks for your reply Borzki.

But i am surprised why Intergraph experts(Richard/Dave) are not speaking on the above?
