Branch-Reinforcement Calculation - 09/25/14 03:33 AM

Hello,

CAESAR uses many things prescribed in Codes. But
Can anyone explain why CAESAR II doesn't speak/use anything about Branch-Reinforcement calculation mentioned in ASME B 31.3, 304.3.3 ?

CAESAR II does not perform a formal pressure (e.g., wall thickness) qualification of the piping system model. The program will throw a warning if the straight pipe wall thickness is insufficient or if the (assumed) bent pipe wall thickness is insufficient. But the program does not confirm that all other piping components are worthy for pressure service - e.g., listed components such as tees, elbows, flanges, valves, etc., and unlisted (fabricated) components such as reinforced fabricated tees.
We collect branch information for SIF calculation, not for pressure check.

Thanks Mr. Dave Diehl for your answer.

It will be very nice, if that can also be included in CAESAR II. Isn't it ?

Thanks and Regards,
