Factors used in Piping Stress Analysis - 07/10/06 08:03 AM

Hi friends,

can anybody tell me exactly what is difference between following factors (used for stress analysis)

1) Flexibility factor
2) Stress Intensifcation Fcator
3) Correction Factor
4) Reduction Factor

Thanks

Just send me your work I will be glad to do all of it for you for free....

Have you ever considered reading a code book or the CAESAR Manuals? Or do you prefer to annoy me with questions which should not be asked? confused confused confused

bajwa,
bends tend to ovalize to create flexibity which is determined using bend radius, pipe radius & thickness.
stress intensification factors were determined using fatigue analysis(7000 cycles normally)of inplane and outplane bending of pipes and finally they have derived an equation.
U can find these equations in B31.3 APPENDIX D.

arun,

No doubt you understand the issue but you did not quite get it right in your posting.

Anyway, this discussion moved to the end of this thread:
