Flush Type Nozzle In CAESAR II - 07/16/14 08:26 PM

Hello guys,

I am newbie in this forum.
I Would like to ask how to model flush type nozzle for storage tank in CAESAR II v7.0. My concern is to get the nozzle and rotation displacement for my analysis at the nozzle. Pls help or give me the correct link if this topic already discussed in this forum. Thanks a lot.

Hi Richard-san,

Thanks for the reply.
I got problem to model this flush type nozzle as the pipe nozzle cross section changing from circular to rectangular shape (at tank shell). Like Figure 5.14 pg 5-61 in API 650 12 edition. Need your advise if you have another alternative sir. Thanks.

Not really. c2 uses 3D Beam Elements and assumes a circular cross section. You're really looking at a custom fitting (think FEA).
