which design code I have to take for building piping. - 07/06/14 01:50 AM

Dear sir,

I am doing stress analysis for building piping (metallic industrial piping) system, here I have a small conflict on piping design code, our Clint asking to do the stress analysis for metallic industrial piping system using design code: BS 13480, however the CAESAR II stress analysis software provided design code is EN 13480, here we don’t have BS 13480 design code.

I referred some standard books but I am not sure BS 13480 & EN 13480 design codes are same or not.

So kindly advice me which design code I have to take for metallic industrial piping system (building piping).

Quick response is highly appreciated.

From the front of the Code is this statement:

"This European Standard exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation
under the responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the Management Centre has the same status as the official
versions."

BS-13480 is the same as EN-13480.
