PSV routing. - 06/13/14 07:57 AM

Dear all,

Refer the attached routing for PSV system. here we have reaction force shall be 50000N. Pipe size:Inlet 14' outlet:10", header size:24" Pressure:6.9 barg temperature:176 deg C. Can someone give a guidance for the attached routing.

we have checked the routing,in that support load and stress are not within the limit.

Hi Shabeer,

you have to add flexibility at the outlet near the HP flare header.

Refer the below link. very good stuff for pipe stess engineers.

Hi, I've the same problem.
How do you calculate reaction force (I think you didn't follow B31.1 rules) and where did you apply this 50000N force?

Dear Shabeer,

I request you to please recheck the PSV size. As a normal design, the inlet size of a PSV shall always be lesser than the size of the outlet due to an increase in the specific volume of the fluid. What you have mentioned is the other way round.

With regards,
