Hi,

I have a query on modal analysis.
I wnt to know if Caesar can extract the modes of vibration for small bore cantiliver type connections attached to larger pipe say 3" connection (weldolet,pipe,flange,blind flange) attached to a 30" pipe. Would the modal analysis be able to distuingish between the modes of the pipe and the connection ?

A modal analysis will include response of all elements modelled. However you will need to be careful to properly include your vent length. Clearly the centre-line to wall will need to be excluded.

Also, local flexibility of your 30" wall at the connection should be considered. This will not be incorporated in the C2 analysis and may swamp results if ignored.
