Configuration setting for ISO 14692-FRP Materials - 04/14/14 01:01 AM

Members,
I have got some doubts for the FRP Material/ ISO 14692 stress analysis configuration settings.
1.Do we have to select manually Bourdon pressure as TRANS ONLY for FRP or for the FRP material, Bourdon pressure is selected default in stress calculation?
2.Is the checkbox for “Exclude f2 from UKOOA bending stresses” as "TRUE" is to be checked in the Configure/Setup.
3.Specifies the fitting thickness of the bend- Is it require to specify the bend thickness as diameter and thickness is included under input section.

Looking your views..

Thanks

Dear member:

1. Bourdon effect is always on for FRP.
2. Part factor for loading f2 for ISO 14692 is implemneted in CAESAR II as the product of SDF(System Design Factor) and OLF (Occasional Load Factor).
a: System Design Factor is in Allowable Stress box (near bottom)
b: Occasional Load Factor is in Load Case Options of Static Load Case Editor
3. No, you don't need to input fitting thickness if bends have the same wall thickness as the pipe

Thanks Lu.
2. Is the checkbox for “Exclude f2 from UKOOA bending stresses” as "TRUE" is to be checked in the Configure/Setup. Default it is "False". Is this we have to select if analysis done using ISO 14692 Code.

You could ignore the setting for "Exclude f2 from UKOOA bending stresses" (I would use the default setting). As I said in previous message, CAESAR II sets f2 = SDF * OLF for ISO 14692. You could read on-line help (click your mouse at textbox for System Design Factor, and hit F1 key)
