Annex F - API 610 - Caesar II

Hello,

I am performing an analysis with API 610. Some of the loads overtake the allowable loads, but if we take in consideration Annex F, the loads would be valid. My queston is if there is some way in Caesar II to apply Annex F in API 610 analysy?

Annex F calculations (for par.b and c) are done automatically in CII API610. you do not need to do anything particularly in order to get it done.

CAESAR II has two locations where API 610 can be used. Yes, the "outboard" processor from teh Main Menu provides the Annex F approach but the quick check check (in the piping input) does not.

Thanks pooria1978 and Dave Diehl for your answers.The point is that "par. a" is not performed in the analysis. Maybe I am wrong and the right way to take in consideration "par. a" is setting value of "2" at input data, Factor for Table 4 Allowables.
In my analysis I have a load that is over 1 time of API 610 allowables loads, but less than 2 times, so I thought that when I ran the analysis with API 610 it would be ok, but it appears as "Failed" cause of that load higher than 1 time of allowables load.

I hope that I have explained correctly my doubt and that you can help me.

The nozzle check in the piping input only does "a". So I would stick with Table 4 (now Table 5 in the current API edition)limit. This is appropriate for checking individual nozzles. If you meet that limit, the nozzle is fine. If the loads are less than 2 times the limit, then go to the stand-alone processor to check the entire pump. Here you have all three checks (a, b & c). Now set the Table multiplier to 2.
Be aware that you must be permitted to go beyond the Table limits, teh purchaser must be aware of your action.
Chances are someone's going to complain about ANY pump load.

Thanks Dave! I agree with you at all.
Anyway I would like to say something for a future version of Caesar II. In my opinion, user doesn´t have to set multiplier to 2 in stand-alone analysis (simply setting to 1), just Caesar II should tell "valid" if loads are less than 2 times (giving a warning that some loads are higher than 1) and tell "failed" if loads are higher than 2 times. That would collect the paragraphs a, b & c.

Take it just as a comment, not a complaint.
