Concrete encased Sea water piping over water table - 11/21/13 06:15 AM

Hi,

Kindly request you to provide some solutions to the below listed issues-

1. Can I consider concrete encasement in Caesar software for piping system? If I know the density of the concrete (M25 grade) and the friction coefficient, can I include a soil model to get the effect of concrete?

2. If the above said is possible, is there any possibility to provide the effect of soil above the concrete encasement, as the same itself is buried.

3. How can I consider the effect of water table in the soil for the above piping system.

Thanks & Regards

So, you go to the trouble of "encasing" the pipe but still want to evaluate its response to load? Isn't it encase meant designed to eliminate such response?
Yes, you can model added weight and added strength, but what is the load you wish to introduce?

Dave,

Yes, I wish to encase the piping with concrete and presume that the water table wont have any affect. But my doubt is, whether the whole piping system with concrete would settle, which eventually leads to pipe failure? So I may need to consider the properties of marshy land and concrete to know the behavior.
