Piping Supports Calc - 10/10/13 12:36 PM

Hello, I have been searching the forums and have not found information on how to design piping supports. Often I end up working with old stds from the big EPC's but this is info that has been handed down from past generations and sometimes it's incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. I'm looking to really comprehend how to improve them, hence I think the best way is to understand properly the old stds myself. So if anyone can give me a heads up, I would appreciate it much. I'm looking for a good book on steel design, specifically how to calculate dimensions or strength of shoes, lugs, reinforcements, bars, and common supports used in stress analysis. Author and name will do, but if you can link me to amazon pages then even better. I'm open to other suggestions regarding the source and type of information I should look for. Thanks for your attention.

Try Googling. Lots of good stuff there.

Recommendations:

Piping and Pipe Support Systems : Design and Engineering
R.P Smith and Tom Van Laan (of Coade/Intergraph)
ISBN 10: 0070589313

PTP have some useful handbooks.
