Multiple pipes with different conditions

Multiple pipes with different conditions - 04/25/06 05:47 AM

In a steam turbine generator project several pipes need stress analysis. For example the v.h.p. steam, h.p. steam and v.h.p. boiler feed water. All pipes have diffent design and operating conditions but are connected to each other in some points i.e. the two first pipes with a bypass pipe.
Can Caesar II run the analysis for the whole complex or the analysis shall be for each pipe seperately?
Also, how the desuperheater valve can be emulated with Caesar II?
Thanks in advance!

If the piping is all connected into one system then you are best to run as one model. The temp and press changes are not unsual just model to the valve where the temp pressure changes and change the press and temp values along with another changes, materials ect., u may have and continue.

beware temp differentials on the bypass.
These can fail if cold
