Configuration Editor doesn't pop-up

Configuration Editor doesn't pop-up - 06/28/13 06:46 AM

Hello,

When I start Configuration Editor its window doesn't pop-up. I see it hanging in the task manager and even on the task bar with other program windows. Can anyone help me out?

If the problem will be solved: can I change code year in the Configuration Editor (for example, ASME NC 1992 instead of 2010)?

Did you move from a setup with two monitors to one monitor? Sometimes we see this, and Windows remembers the last position of the window. The position is saved in the Registry, and is likely off your screen. The only solution is to use REGEDIT, navigate down to "c2config" and delete that key.

What exact version of c2 are you using? I'll give you the exact key (path) to delete.

You can't change "Code years". A specific version of c2 supports a specific edition of the piping Codes.

We are using CAESAR II 2013 R1 (6.10.00.00228 Build 111130).

In other piping programs I have a possibility to change code edition. And you are saying I need an older c2 to use previous code editions? Am I right? Older code editions is the client demand.

All versions of c2 support one Edition of any particular Piping Code.

So what about Configuration Editor problem?
And under one version of particular code you mean the latest?
Sorry if my questions seem stupid. blush

There are only two reasons I'm aware of that would prevent the Configuration window from appearing:

1) The associated DLLs and OCX files didn't register at install time. Assuming you have "Admin Rights", run the "netuserc2.bat" file in the \caesarii program directory to manually register these.

2) Flipping between single/dual monitors can sometimes cause Windows to same the screen position with non-existent coordinates. Try navigating into the c2 registry branch and delete the key for "c2config". (Note, only that one key).

If these don't resolve the problem, open a Support Request on eCustomer.

The specific Code Editions a specific version of c2 supports can be found in the Quick Reference Guide.

Thank you!

Deleting c2config branch in registry helped though I never used dual monitors.

And again about Code Editions: can you be more specific and tell me if I would need to use previous Code Edition than it's is supported by my current c2 what should I do?

Re: Configuration Editor doesn't pop-up - 07/09/13 01:19 PM

Restricting this to only B31.3:

c2 v.5.30 conforms to (only) B31.3 2008.
c2 v.6.10 conforms to (only) B31.3 2010.
c2 v.7.00 will conform to (only) B31.3 2012.

Hi Richard,

The problem is I couldn't find the c2config branch in version 5.20 registry.

Did the Configuration Module ever run on your machine? If you got to the c2 program directory, run the netuserc2.bat file. This will register the necessary DLLs and may resolve the issue.

If this doesn't work, you need to talk to support, file that SR.
