Convert My Head from AutoPipe to Caesar

Convert My Head from AutoPipe to Caesar - 04/12/13 10:43 AM

Can anyone refer me to a discussion in this forum or another which would help a long time AutoPipe user adapt to Caesar?

After years on AutoPipe, I'm picking up Caesar again. Simple items like changing the pressure & temperature over a range of elements are giving me fits.

Since my company imports geometry (but not properties) I have to go in to modify things after they are modeled. I understand changes flow forward through C2's elements, but this is turning out to be very cumbersome. I intend to assign a pressure to a line and end up assigning it to the line, it's trunnions, and all successive lines. When I change the trunnion back to 0 pressure, all successive lines follow suit. Now lather rinse repeat for every break going forward.

There's gotta be a better way, right?

Use the "Element List", it makes changes like this easier and more obvious.

Mr. Perry:

I have a few questions about Autopipe vs. Caesar. If it would be agreeable with you, please contact me at dkopp@si-tx.com.

Thanks

In CAESAR II versions 5.31 and 6.10, we introduced 2 new group edit commands, Invert and Change sequence. The Change Sequence command allows to group elements with similar conditions together in the list then you can define 1 property value and it will propagate forward until you change it.

There is documentation about it as well. Let us know how that works.
