Analysis Modules - API 661 and NEMA SM23 - 07/05/12 12:33 PM

I have a couple of wish list items for the two analysis modules in Caesar: the API 661 Air Cooler module, and the NEMA SM23 module.

I have noticed for the API 661 Air Cooler module, you can only input one inlet nozzle and one outlet nozzle for one header box. Often times header boxes will only have two inlet nozzles, or two outlet nozzles. I created my own spreadsheet to accomplish this, but it would be nice if the module had this built-in functionality.

As for the NEMA SM23 module, I notice you can input a "Factor For Allowable Increase", but as far as I can tell, this applies a universal multiplication factor. I am looking at a compressor/expander right now, that has manufacturer specified allowables for each nozzle. For instance, the compressor discharge has 2 times NEMA allowables, the compressor inlet has 1 times NEMA allowables, the expander inlet has 3 times NEMA allowables, and the expander outlet has 3 times NEMA allowables.

I can still use the NEMA module built into Caesar, as the same formula is used, but I have to manually mark up the final report to show that the loads are indeed below mfg. allowables and not failing.

Those are just a couple of my wish list items for the next version.

Noted - thank you for the suggestions.

Is it foreseen to update the API 661 air cooler module taking into account the possibility to have more than one inlet/outlet nozzle for each header box? It would be really useful especially because there is often confusion in the interpretation of the code concerning the second and third check ( the one on the header and the one on the multi bundle bay).
Thanks in advance and regards
