Flange leakage calculation on socket weld flange

Flange leakage calculation on socket weld flange - 03/08/12 05:05 PM

I have urgent issue on over hydrotest pressure for SW flange 1" class 900 that we tested at 9255 psig without any problem and leakage. I would like to check and confirm this flange by flange leakage calculation in CAESAR II BUT caesar ii don't have socketweld type to select. I will appreciate if Anyone can advise this.

You can't check this flange in c2.

You mean CAESAR II cannot confirm socket weld flange or cannot confirm this case.

On this case, there is another flange installed on same spool : 2.1/16" API 5000 RTJ Weld neck flange A105 that I had input in CESAR II by flange leakage calculation to confirm and approve for hydrotest pressure at 9255 psig (higher than recommended standard code) using yield strength of this flange inplace of allowable stress that the result was acceptable.

Please advise your opinion.

c2 cannot confirm the socket weld flange.

How come you tested a 900# flange at 9255 psig?
