spring modelling. - 02/13/12 02:09 AM
In CII file ,the spring hanger was kept as Caesar defined and Free Restraint at the nozzle was used to pass nozzle of blower. The loads on the Springs were then input as user-defined spring to take some of the pipe weight off the blower nozzle so that the nozzle loads are within vendor's allowables In such a case what will happen is, the spring will push up the node at the spring application point and release the load on the blower nozzle. This load released from blower nozzle + what would have come at that point in normal case is then balanced by the higher spring load.
by using free restraint option in CII file springs near blower nozzle taking cold load 2400 kg & 2700 kg respectively. If springs are modelled as Caesar defined ( without free restraint option ) then these springs are taking cold load ( sustained load ) as 1100kg & 1700 kg.
so my question is whether spring will practically work ( take load of 2400 kg & 2700 kg respectively )on site by using free node option as given in CII file. or in reality spring will take cold load of 1100 kg & 1700 kg ( loads getting without free restraint opntion in CII )
i request you all to please advice on this issue.
