Range Tool in V4.30 Graphics

Range Tool in V4.30 Graphics - 05/09/01 10:05 AM

I've been using v4.30 of C2 for the past few weeks and I'm seeing some quirks with the input graphics. My primary concern is with the range tool.

The first issue is that, once I've selected a range of nodes, I have to hit "v" twice to cycle through volume plotting in order to actually removed the out of range nodes from the display.

The other issue is that once I have used the range selection, it won't work again. For example - I go to graphics, select a range, make a printout, and return to the spreadsheet. Later in the session, I'll go back to graphics. The range has been reset, as usual, to all nodes. However, when I try selecting a range of nodes, the graphics plot does not change. It seems to just ignore the range request. So far, I'm finding that I have to completely exit Caesar in order to get the range tool to work again.

Is anyone else seeing either of these happening?

Thanks,

You really shouldn't have to cycle through the "(v)olume" command. On my machine, the "excluded" nodes/elements are removed immediately. This should happen immediately, but if it doesn't, just refresh the window - you can do this by grabbing the frame and adjusting its size - slightly.

As to the range not working the second time in, this is a bug in the "old" graphics. All development is now concentrating on the new 3D graphics. The range command isn't quite finished here, but its getting close.
