I've tried setting up a poll in the Caesar II forum. I worked through the "Poll Manager" setting up the topic, selections, and other options. I selected "Done adding polls".

When I select "Preview Post", none of the polling information that I set up appears.

Can a poll be set up in the Caesar II forum?

You should be able to create a "new topic" that contains a poll. Polls can not be created in "replies".

I'll put a test poll in the CAESAR II forum ...

Here is how to add a poll:

1) Start a new post/thread.
2) Give the new post a Subject/Title.
3) Invoke the "Poll Manager", and complete the poll.
4) Click submit at the bottom, just as you would any other post.

The poll-post should be displayed.

Agreed on the steps...the Poll Manager steps the user right through it.

However I did not see the poll when I previewed it - did you? (I saw your poll in CAESAR II and it looks fine.)

I particularly wanted to understand whether I can type some introductory text, enter the poll and the poll would follow the introductory text. When I tried preview, only the introductory text showed up, not the poll, so I did not want to submit the poll not knowing how the software organized text and a poll in a message. Any experience with mixing text and a poll?

Also, I searched the archives for examples of polls, and noticed that poll box itself (the question and options) appeared to be missing from the thread if the poll was closed out.

I didn't try the preview, I just submitted it.

Give it a try again. If things don't work out the way you want, delete all the text in the post (you can't delete the post, only moderators can do that). Let me know and I'll delete the post.

With many types of forums, the poll does not become visable until the post is submitted. Normally, the poll will apear at the top of the thread, above your post. A preview will only show what you have typed as a post.
