Hello Richard,

I'm designing a field erected rubber lined tank, 29.5 ft in dia. and 45 ft. height. A penthouse is located on top of the tank and agitator inside the penthouse. Content of the tank is slurry with a s.g. of 2.01. Maximum level of liquid is 43.6 ft. When calculating the wind overturning and the seismic, tank software recommends no anchor bolts are necessary. Client wants an anchorage on his tank but the minimum size and number of bolts which is 1 1/4" dia. and 10 bolts respectively. When generating the software calculation, its says bolt dia. and number of bolts insufficient. Software recommends 1 1/2" dia. and 16 bolts. Can you explain this? (not necessary and insufficient)

It could be a number of things.

Check your "bolt increment" in the configuration, if it is set to 4 then 10 bolts won't work, you'll need a multiple of 4. Next check the bolt allowable versus the stress reported in the TXT file. If the stress exceeds the allowable, either the size or the number of bolts is increased.
