Dear All,

In PVElite Nozzle input menu, we can enter the nozzle outside projection in two tabs (on in the outside projection tab & other in the layout tab). But when we entering the vessel center to flange face distance in layout menu, the corresponding distance comes as the outside projection is not matching. I mean i cant figure out the distance in drawing.
for ex:

i have entered vessel center to flange outside dimension as 945mm.
Meanwhile in the nozzle outside projection tab shows (in nozzle input tab) as 155.124mm.
The length from vessel center to outside is (ID1500/2 + 16 thk ) =766mm.
945-766 = 179mm.(length from outside of shell to flange face)
I think you got the problem. Let me know how this 155.124mm came.

Dear Vibin,

on PV elite. nozzle projection only consider start from outside diameter of shell until end of nozzle neck excluding flange.

Kindly pls attached file for your reference.

You also can see this figure if you press PV elite help.

Regard,
zul

the figure may be misunderstood, cause the outside projection in that figure apparently ends at weld between pipe and WN flange, checking outside projection and pipe cut length in the report you can find that the projection is to be till the flange face excluding the flange thk, infact WN flange and LWN (without hub) of equal outside projection have also the same face distance to vessel centerline.
I suggest Intergraph to change the figure in the help.

Dear Vibin
You are right we have two tabs which allow us to enter nozzle projection but please pay attention that each of them has a different meaning.
one of them is in the "nozzle main" tab and its lable is "nozzle outside projection". in this tab you must enter the length of nozzle neck.Indeed you just enter the length of nozzle without considering its flange.
(look at the defenition of "ho" in the following picture)
In The seconed tab which is placed under the "Layout" button in the "nozzle main" tab, you must enter the distance from the center of shell to the face of the flange.
(look at the defenition of "Proj" in the following picture)
