Dear Friends

I have a question for you, I couldn’t find the calculation for a MAWP value.
I have a Horizontal vessel with an ID of 1300 mm, with a 20” Manhole on left head. From the Internal Pressure Calculations STEP 3. The MAWP values are as follows

LH head 17.8345 bars
Shell 17.6985 bars
RH head 17.8345 bars

However, the MAWP reported is 10.000 bars.

And then in Nozzle Summary Step 28, the MAWP values are as follows.

Min.- Nozzles 12.84 Noz (20 12.84 Noz M1 (20”)
Min. Shell&flgs 10.00 20 30 10.16

Computed Vessel MAWP 10.00 bars

I want to find out where this value comes from.

Thanks and regards

Dear fernandiux,

This may be the MAWP of the flange element, 20-30. Is it a standard Flange? We will have to review your input file. Please send your PV Elite input file (*.pvi) to support@coade.com . Also include the version and the build of PV Elite that you are using.

Dear Mandeep

Thanks a lot for your support and immediate response, I really appreciate. But I have a problem and it is not going to be possible for me to send a copy of the input file as I only have a hard copy of this Vessel Calculation, I’m only reviewing and making some comments I found this inconsistent that may be because of a wrong input. I will ask vendor to recheck.
I can say that there are no flanges in element 20 to 30 as this is the cylindrical shell welded to elliptical heads.
Thanks again and regards

Dear fernandiux,

Check the ANSI Flange MAWP report. This report lists the pressure rating of the ANSI flanges connected to the nozzles.
