I am working on lifting lugs for a horizontal vessel. The lugs are oriented perpendicular to the vessel and require a pad. When I run WRC 107 it is asking for "square" or rectangular attachment as illustrated in WRC107 bulletin. Where could I find this bulletin?

thanks

Frank,

If you visit the website http://www.forengineers.org/wrc/ there is a way you can order the bulletin online.

Frank,

You can model the lug as a rectangular attachment to the vessel. The forces and moments that you specify in the WRC routine are acting at the junction of lug at vessel. WRC-107 provides the stresses in the vessel wall.

I also came to know that WRC-198 also analyzes lug attachment to vessel. I have not seen this bulletin, but may review it.
