If you are designing an isolated flange without any attached components, it is best to do so using the Component Analysis (CodeCalc) facility of PVElite. However, if you wish to to use PVElte, it is best to attach a dummy cylinder to the flange. The programme needs the design stress of the attached cylinder to determine the allowabe hub stress (Sh).
