Please advice how to give guide supports for columns design in PVELITE. Is there any book refers the guide support design calculation.

I had a similar problem to be solved. The guides were specifically used to support a low pressure (7 kg/cm2)column. In case of low pressure columns, static deflection due to wind is prominent. By giving guide supports we can limit the static deflection of the column. We modelled column in STADD to determine the reactions as guide locations due to wind force. the guide supports are to be designed for these reactions & column thickness is based on combined loading case.

Hope this serves some part to your solution.
I also tried using external force / moment available in PVElite, but it did not work. I think COADE can exactly tell how the use can be made here of such facility.

For guided column design combined analysis of column with guided structure is required.. which Pvelite can not do... That's why STAAD Analysis will help...
