Dear sirs,

I want to run a WRC-107 calculation for support lugs without reinforcment plates on a vertical vessel (ASME VIII Div1).

So if I fill in 0 for thickness in the WRC-107 calculation parameters the analysis states:
Error/Warning Messages for WRC107 Analysis 1
ERROR - The pad thickness , 0. must be > 0.0 (Pad).

If 0.1 mm is used for the thickness a wrc-107 calculation is made without unacceptable stresses.

What should be done to calculate a wrc-107 for support lugs without reinforcement plates? And why does it not fail for extremely thin support plates?

Greets,
Joep

This is an interesting question...

I'm also curious why it isn't possible to calculate lifting lug with RF pad?

Regards.

Hello Joep

It is possible to perform a support lug analysis when the lug does not have a reinforcing pad. There must be another reason why you cannot seem to do it.

You could send me your file, attention Ray at techsupport@coade.com. I shall try to see the reason.
