Hi,
As per Zick analysis if the wear plate width is more than
1.56(rt)^0.5 then the wear plate thickness shall be considered in the saddle analysis.

Please tell me that PV Elite soft following this method?

What i found is in solution irrespective of wear plate width soft considers only shell thickness in stress calculations only.

Hello Vishal

Yes, those rules are followed. However, if the saddle analysis is performed using the PD 5500 method, then that rule is not followed, as it is not mentioned in PD 5500. In the case of PV Elite, both methods are available to the user.

The March build of PV Elite 2007 prints additional information in the output to indicate that the wear plate was considered or not. In case the wear plate was not considered then the exact reason for it is also displayed.

Try it out.
