Hi, Wondering how CADWorx2018-2020 users are working around PSV inlet flange thickness & custom bolts lengths?

Upgrading from CADWorx2012 and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. smile

Thank-you.

CADWorx will calculate the bolt lengths for you provided you have accurate data in your catalog.

With PSVs we manually add the extra length and enter annually through component edit/iso/length.

For wafer check valves (etc.) our bolts auto adjust per cat lengths

setup/cat/config

BoltRoundControl=1

Hi Vanman,

So do you have a catalog item for every possible PSV vendor and size option to match non-standard inlet flange dimensions thickness for dimension "X" shown in picture below? Typical vendors (Farris, Crosby, Tyler) here in North America all have different "x" dimensions for same orifice and NPS sized PSV's.

Hi jwood,
Thanks for your input. smile

I have auto bolt adjust working fine for all standard bolting c/w any options for all (wafer valves, bleed rings, spec blinds, etc..) just need to find the best way how to address PSV inlets and how other users are working around this CADWorx design bug. Would be nice if a extra user input could be added at command prompt to allow for this dimension issue.

Ken, I am not sure I am following you? If you are using valves from different vendors with different dimensional data, you will need to have catalog items to model them accurately. If its only the flange thickness that changes between manufacturers you could work with separate end type tables.

I created end type tables specifically for PSV inlet flanges. I have not seen them vary between vendors. As for valve dimensions, while I build tables to vendor dimensions (which also vary little) the placement in CADWorx allows the designer to manually enter the overall length if needed.

Thanks dgorsman, I went the custom end type way and it works perfectly.
