So I am having a problem building a Tag description.

I want to build my tags like this:

{SPEC NAME}{Valve Type ID}{END Type ID}

for example

a "A" spec gate valve that has flange RF connections

A1R

or a ball valve

A2R

Or a RTJ Endtype

A2J

Or a "AS" spec. Ball valve.

AS2J

Can you tell me what tables to build and how/where to build them to have this be automated?

you will find most of them at the conference in Vegas this week. from what I see you are looking for about all I could suggest would be utilizing user data fields to accomplish this.
