hey,all,

some clients want to get the weld counts for whole project. I know there is command "weldtotal" to do the weld list. but it doesn't count the welds on any OLET or tap connection, like dummy leg. does anybody have a clue to do that? or how your guys do this job in the similar case?

thanks in advance!

I don't use the weldtotal command. I'll pull a database extraction of all welds and all olets, which I will then process in a spreadsheet to get the weld inches required. We don't do enough taps to warrant an extraction of those, since it is a decimal percentage of the total weld count.

thanks rocker!
how do you pull a database extraction? Since our company is not using any type of database for Cadworx yet, I don't know if I can still do this ?

Better go back to the client or your project manager first. Olet root welds are rarely calculated as are support (non-penetrating) welds.

We don't do use the database, I have a custom procedure for identifying welded connections with and without weld gaps.
