Hi All,

In case you have not seen our Insider blog post or you are not subscribed to our email notifications we are posting the news about the Navisworks 2013 SP1 compatibility here.

We are pleased to announce that as a result of ongoing collaboration between Autodesk Navisworks® and Intergraph CADWorx® development teams, CADWorx 2013 Plant Professional models (including intelligent CADWorx properties) will now be supported in Navisworks, beginning with version 2013/SP1. See Autodesk announcement here.

You can download the latest version of Autodesk Navisworks 2013 Service Pack 1 here.

To enable CADWorx objects in Navisworks you will need to install the CADWorx 2013 object enablers on each machine with which you wish to view CADWorx 2013 models. The enabler can be found here.

Please note that after installing Navisworks 2013 SP1 users will need to make one quick change to the default settings to make it work properly with CADWorx 2013 models. Please read the following or view this short video here .

1) Start Navisworks 2013.

2) Select the file button.

3) Select the options button.

4) Then select File Readers, DWG/DXF, change the DWG Loader Version to 2012, and select Ok.

Now Navisworks 2013 will be able to open a CADWorx 2013 model, visualize the CADWorx solids, and view the CADWorx intelligent Xdata.

Hi fenchane,

I'm not sure of what the Autodesk's policy is, but I don't think that they would continue to update and develop older versions of the Navisworks software. We only own and develop the CADWorx, CAESAR II, PV Elite, and TANK product groups at Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions (ICAS). We don't own or develop Navisworks so you will need to ask Autodesk/Navisworks to backdate those changes to older versions of the Navisworks software. It is up to them if they will do this or not.

Just a quick update here.

As of CADWorx 2013 R1 (released August 7th, 2012) users running this version would omit the steps one to four in the original post above.

CADWorx 2013 R1 fully supports AutoCAD 2013. So running CADWorx 2013 R1 and Navisworks 2013 SP1 together is as easy as installing them.
