Good Morning!!

I am at the infant level of getting this started (grouping these components both P&ID & Plant) I have followed all the instruction I can, yet still i get this error "Line Number Information not found in database" I have checked the database that both the P&ID and Plant are set to. Both have tables in this database both of those tables also have the same line numbers. Why is it then that when I am in P&ID View I get this error?

Thanks for any help!!

I also had trouble when I first started to try and link these components. A few things I would check would be your configuration file is pathed correctly at the top of your P&id view to your project.cfg. Check your LIVEDB settings in Plant to ensure the database is pathed correctly. If those are good I also found you need to have a component drawn in plant on your line number you want to link in order for the link to occur. Once you have drawn something on your line number, refresh the P&id view palette and see if it recognizes the line number.

TURNS OUT I HAD CHANGED EVERYTHING THAT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED BUT THE P&ID PALLET DOES NOT REFRESH YOU HAVE TO CLOSE AND REOPEN IT FOT IT TO SEE CERTIN ALTERATIONS.

I THOUGHT THAT IF YOU LINK TWO COMPONENTS, THEN LATER ON DELETE ONE OR THE OTHER THEN ITS COUNTERPART WOULD BE DELEATED AS WELL. I HAVE EXPERIMENTED IN THIS WAY BUT WHEN ONE IS TAKEN OUT THE OTHER REMAINS, DOES THIS PROCESS REALLY PAY OFF IN THE LONG RUN? IT SEEMS LIKE A WHOLE LOT OF EXTRA MATERIAL TO KEEP UP WITH.

The palette can be refreshed if you go to the unmatched tab and click refresh.

Well, you don't really want to be able to delete a valve from the P&ID by removing it from Plant...but that's another discussion.

Hi! Willinbrief

Please check again the database of PID! Let me talk if make sure you used two command "typeprocess" and "Combineprocess" in PID drawing.

Thanks,
Kien
