The hdpe pipe is heat fused and the od is the same as steel pipe, so I think you could use any steel pipe spec and update the BOM and some of the dims., to reflect your Spec.

Thanks for the post,
Yes, The OD of HDPE pipe is the same as steel pipe.
Btw, the dims of the fittings are different than any other of steel pipe.
I do not have a HDPE dim data, how to find it out.
Is there any substitutability data in CADWorx system?

PM,

For dimensions, look at:

http://www.isco-pipe.com/

We used special end types for the tees and elbows, and stub ends with backing flanges for the flange connections.

We created our own data tables from the templates provided by CADWorx.

My knowledge of HDPE is limited, but what I can remember s that each manufacturer of HDPE is different.

Vanman is right, the fittings can have different lengths. I would check with your local pipe vendor and see what is available in your area. Some of these fittings can have a long lead time.

This is what we use.

We have do several projects involving HDPE and PTFE piping. We have modified and create data files for these. For our template we used the flanged components that are supplied with cadworx. Were pretty close to get us started. Gaskets differences and instrument tees were the prickly points.

Thank you guys,
Yes, the fittings of HDPE are all different; the HDPE components, is that every manufacturer has his own standard fitting dimensions in terms of length and for some sizes.
I have used 2 different HDPE catalogs from independent pipe products at http://independentpipeproducts.com/ and Sclairpipe at http://www.kwhpipe.ca/products_sclairpipe_fittings.asp
