Does either CADWorx or AutoCAD have a tool to manage the models? Looking for something similar to PDS where users are presented with a database driven list of models to open.

Letting the users manage models is getting out of hand - multiple copies, horrible file naming, etc. Creates work share challenges too with other offices.

Not that I'm aware of.

Have a look at Bentley Projectwise, Autodesk Vault, and Synergis Adept for various EDMS systems. I'd advise staying away from Microsoft SharePoint; while it can store DWGs it's built around managing more conventional word processing and spreadsheet documents.

Or get someone in your office to ride herd on the users. I've worked with one or two, and you REALLY want to do things the "right way".
