There are the ISOGen supplemental blocks that you can use. They are typically used for ISOGen. I didn't realize the local guages need to be modeled and BOM'd.

Local analog gauges are fairly compact, but some of the transmitters with built-in displays are bulky enough that its useful, especially when dealing with a very compact modular unit with limited access. Having a physical object in the model is also helpful for model reviews.

Ok, I've watched it twice now. He mentions adding 3D instruments to the ISOGEN Supplemental list, which I wanted to try out. So I added it, but I can't get it to insert a tag the way that he get's one. And I can't get a baloon tag to show up either.

I'm sure it's either something in the Pipe_alt.dat file or in the block itself. The line that I added to my Pipe_alt.dat is as follows;

Code:
Wika_PG_0.5npt.dwg                     WIKA 1/2" PG (2 level)             userinsert "Wika_PG_0.5npt"

So it inserts the instrument, but doesn't ask for the tag number like it does in the video. Do I have to add something to the Pipe_alt.dat file line to get this to function the way it does in the video or something into the block itself?

So then I tried modifying my code to look more like the code in the video;

Code:
Wika_PI_0.5npt.dwg                     WIKA 1/2" PI (2 level)             graph2 "Wika_PI_0.5npt" 2

I then thought of adding the tag that allows for a 2 line instrument in CADWorx to my 3D block (F1S.dwg) and it asks for the tag number, but it doesn't show the bubble in the ISO still. ARG!!!

So I'm half way to figuring it out, but need a little help to go the rest of the distance.

What do I need in my block to allow the instrument tag to show up in the ISO?

Try renaming the block to "ISOGEN_Instrument_Wika_PI_0.5npt" (From pg 220 of the help: "The block name must contain "ISOGEN_Arrow", "ISOGEN_Instrument", "ISOGEN_Wall", "ISOGEN_Floor", or "ISOGEN_BreakIn" for export to ISOGEN. For example: To add another instrument type, name the block "ISOGEN_Instrument_4" and add it to the menu").

I did a post a while back on this here:

dgorsman: I definitely agree with you there. I have User Shapes for those. I was talking specifically about the small manual guages (as noted at the beginning).
