I am using the demo version of CADWorx P&ID, pointing it to some of our CADWorx Plant specs. The valve tags use some custom fields defined in the Keyword.dat file, but in the P&ID program the field is still showing the {FIELDNAME} text instead of the appropriate value. Is this a known issue?

We use a database codes file, and those are filled incorrectly, I haven't checked if P&ID uses keywords or not.

Thanks. Right now its the major deal-breaker, aside from not enough room on the current license key.

I just received this reply from CADWorx support.

"CADWorx P&ID does not process keywords from the specification files.

Most of the keywords are based on parametric data files which are not used with CADWorx P&ID."

That being said, there are way around it...a routine can be written to do a find replace on the keywords...but I agree that it is something P&ID should support out of the box!

While I agree that certain keywords such as {LENGTH} do not apply, user defined keywords use their own file and are typically used for things that are *not* already defined.

If I have to LISP my way around that, I might as well build my own P&ID program.

I was thinking more of a update query based on size, spec, and keyword...still hairy to do, but much easier to execute than lisp.

Provided you have a database to run off of, of course.

Yes you'd need a database, but from my point of view, not using a database is like using AutoCAD LT...

I also just read about a feature included in the P&ID database. The firm that developed it says that there is a method to export a csv file to use with Isogen...I still trying to see how that works...
