Several versions ago (and we are now on 2019), a suggestion was provided due to a "design limitation" in placing the MS Access database and related support files as follows:

"P&ID drawings and the Access database, (.MBD), for that project would all need to reside in the P&ID folder in your structure. There are other CADWorx support files which would also need to be in the same folder as well including the project.cfg and database.tbl. CADWorx puts those required files there when the project is created from CADWorx P&ID. "

QUESTION: Has this location dependency been removed in 2019?

There has always been a method of having the DWG files in different folder than in the folder with the MDB. However this involves making custom CADWorx Profiles with the relevant support file search path added etc.

My suggestion would be to have the PID project files and DWGs in the same folder. Its much easier that way from an administration point of view.

I see, Vanman. Currently, we have PIDs in their own subfolder along with other drawing types under various folders based on process area that are located on the LAN. I am the sole CAD person who edits drawings.

Consolidating all PIDs for all process areas under one folder along with the PID project files would be easier to manage.
Our current folder structure would have to be rethought and revised.
