Hello all,
I have to put somehow customer PTN code for each component so I can get them in isometric. I successfully did it trough DBCode Tables. Customer now wants to put their component weights for each component (each PTN serial no.) to be also seen on isometrics. My idea is to add another column in DBCode Tables and put weights next to the PTN serial codes.
That weights I can get in Short description, however piping weights are problem because customer have weight per meter and I get just weight of one meter, not multiplied by the pipe length. Is there some option to add formula in Short description field to calculate weight from DBCode table and multiplied with length (which can get from LENGHT_CMP_TBL)?
I am trying to avoid completely re-entering weighs in Base Catalog for each component for each schedule.
Any idea?

I am not sure if I am following this question correctly. Do you want two weight columns ?

No, instead normal weights from base catalog, I wont to use weights from my DBCode table (for each component, like I have for serial numbers) and insert keyword to my short description to show that value. Everything works instead of pipes because I need to multiply weight per meter with length.

That's not going to work how you think.

I would suggest you update the catalog (you do have a catalog for this specific client, right?) with the client provided weights. Alternatively, you could work from a database and backfill the weight with some lookup queries or manually with a bit of cut-and-paste. Either way, there's already a field for weight and it's expected to be used as a weight. Trying to hack a description field as weight can cause some problems down the road - it still reads as "Short Description", so what's that number? And why isn't the field labeled as "Weight" not the right value?

Paolo, I agree with Dgorsman make use of the actual weight columns. If your schedules and materials are set correctly CADWorx will calculate the weights for you if left at 0.0. This only applies to certain components though.

Thank you guys for your fast and helpful replays. We will enter all customer weights in weights fields then. Unfortunately customers weights are different than cadworx calculated ones and they insist on their data.
They also insist to split pipeline materials in isometrics at fabrication, erection, piperack and slippers!? I can use offshore for 3rd material table, but that's it. Isogen allows 3 groups of material, right?

Yep, that would work.
