What is the best approach to remove certain insignificant elements from a stress output. These insignificant elements are overstressed but the relevant model elements are not overstressed. Unless "removed" from the output the report will show a failure of the designed system whereas in reality all significant element pass code stress checks.

Make the following assumptions:

1. Suppose you are adding components to an existing pipe system.
2. You model your new elements plus a portion extending beyond your tie-points such that you get an accurate math model at your tie points.
3. Elements at the far end of the existing system are the ones shown as overstressed, and are considered insignificant.
4. The existing system if modelled completely would not be overstressed.
5. Simply placing the anchor or entering a displacement at the tie-point is not suitable.
6. Your addition will not significantly influence the stress of the existing system.

I could artificially increase the yield at insignificant elements, but is there a more elegant solution?
