Dear Sirs,

L1 = W : HGR
L2 = W + P1+D1+T1 : HGR
L3 = WW + HP+H : HYD
L4 = W + P1+D1+T1+H : OPE
Where, D1 = Settllement Long term.
Please confirm the above load case.

Client prefer to remove D1 from L2, instead add the settlement value to the displacement of the spring during the spring selection directly.

In such case, D1 to be removed from L4 also. Please confirm.
Since the results will not be correct for the selected spring in caesar.

Thanks

I would make sure that the selected spring is capable of handling the load and travel for both cases - with and without settlement. I would use the pre-settlement results to set the spring installation load (assuming the settlement occurs after the system is in operation). Likewise, I would assure that the expansion stress range is OK between the installed position (L3) and the two operating cases - with & without settlement.
Some may leave the settlement out of the expansion stress range calculation but confirm that the stress due to settlement alone is less than 3Sh (or thereabouts).
