In CAESAR II Ver. 6.10 "Set Sustained SIF Multiplier" setting, do we still need to select 0.75 for SIF=0.75i or 0.0001 for SIF=1.0 to make it active for Occasional Stress? Does it mean the default SIF for Occasional Stress is the full B31.3 App. D SIF's?

As I understand "Use SL Formulation Para 320" setting (Code Case 178) where SIF is being selected between the greater of 0.75i and 1.0 only applies to Sustained Stress and will not be used in Occasional Stress, is this correct?

Then, if we change SIF Multiplier setting, does it override Para 320 setting?

B31.3 Code Interpretation 1-34 dated February 23, 1981 File: 1470-1 states that
for sustained and occasional loads an SIF of 0.75i, but not less than 1.0 may be used.
This setup directive allows us to enter our desired coefficient.

And to comply with this interpretation (1-34), we are opt to enter 0.75.
The software's default is 1.0. But selecting 0.75 is still at safe side since
the software itself overrides the value to unity if it is exceeded.

B31.3 recently introduced an equation for sustained stress in paragraph 320. This equation uses the sustained stress index (SSI) - upper case I. This new sustained stress equation with its SSI appears in the 2010 edition of the Code and is included in CAESAR II 2013 (V6.10).
This SSI is your 0.75(SIF) - where applicable.

Based on this Code change our Config setting "Set Sustained SIF Multiplier" is obsolete. CAESAR II 2014 will relegate this setting to a "Legacy Setting"
