Dear all,

I have to make a horizontal pump nozzle loads evaluation (including all three nozzle checks acc. to API 610 App. F), however as per Vendor's drawing the allowable loads can be up to 3x API 610.

Since my calculated nozzle loads exceed the 2 times API values, and given that CAESAR performs analysis only up to 2 times API, I intend to do the check manually. However, I have doubts whether the equations of Appendix F1.2 b) and c) are applicable in this case.

In case the Appendix F is not applicable, how should I proceed with the pump evaluation?

If you have the nozzle allowable loads from the vendor you can put them manually into Caesar II by considering the correct directions of the loads. You can do this for any nozzle.

Thanks for your reply. So if I am understanding correct, does this mean that the appendix F 1.2.b) and c) checks are not applicable in this case, therefore I need to do only the individual nozzle check, the same way as I would do for a vessel nozzle?

Your understanding is correct. Caesar II checks the incoming loads against the allowable only that you inserted.
