Dear Friends,
I gone thru the CAESAR forum,i found one thread for the related my question,but still not understood clearly. Hence, i raised this question to get clearly.
Sub : Model bottom mounted Spring with friction factor.
As per APPLICATION GUIDE sec 4-18, spring model ( foot mounted) with friction factor as below.
5-10 - rigid (1/2 dia of pipe)- Properties of Pipe (ZERO WEIGHT)
10-15 - Dummy - shoe height - Ambient temp. (ZERO WEIGHT)
15 - C-NODE 16
Restraints = X,Z,RX,RZ,Node 15 with C-Node 16 (Except Y Direction as per Application Guide)
Spring Hanger => Node 15 with C-Node 16
Node 16 = +Y Restraint with Mu= 0.1
Questions :
1)Modeling as shown above is right or not?
2)At Node 16 - is this +Y or ANC, as Spring Base plate will be bolted or welded with Steel structure or foundation plate.
3) Normally Vendor provides Teflon / graphite pad at Above of Spring CAN (Load Flange)not at bottom plate.
If we use SHOE or DUMMY with Teflon/sliding plate with spring CAN (Foot Mounted) in any case Sliding plate will come on top of Spring CAN rather than @ Bottom.
Thanks in advance to guide me for spring modeling method.
