Hello everyone,

I have question regarding stresses in CAESAR output result.

1. What is the code stress actually refers to? Does it depends on the load case? For example, EXP load case represents thermal stress, OPE load case represents operating stress,SUS load case represent sustained stress?

2. How to determine thermal stress in CAESAR II?

Please advice.

Thank you.

Regards,

Hafiz

The "Code Stress" is the stress computed as per an equation in the Piping Code. Yes the equation used depends on the load case type (EXP, SUS, etc), as well as the active Piping Code (B31.1, B31.3, etc).

For a list of the equations used, refer to the Quick Reference Guide, or the Piping Codes.
