Dear all,
A very warm goodmorning.
I have one doubt in case of expansion. If i want to reduce the expansion stress then what should I do? By increasing the size of loop I can reduce the stresses, is there any other method to reduce the expansion stress?

Waiting for your precious opinion.

Thanking you all.

Regards.

Dear Peterson,

You can control the expansion by shifting the position of fixed supports, also if you want to reduce the expansion, then you can increase the number of loops in your system. This way you can control your expansion. It will be great if you can attached some snap shots where exactly you are having problem, then the solution will be more clear.

R.K.

Dear RK,
First of all thank you very much for your answer. I cant shift the location of support as it is existing pipe rack. Also, there is not enough space to add more loops. Only thing I can do is increase the length of loop but the problem is I have already increased the length of loop from 6.5meter to 10 meters.
Regarding the snap shots, I dont know how to attach in this reply. If you know please tell me or else you can send me your email I will send via email.

Thank you once again.

Regards.

Dear Peterson,
I know this type of problems. Is a 3-D loop possible there? i mean do you have enough space available to have this kind of arrengements? its easy to add the image, just go to file manager (Its available at downside once you select the option reply) and add the image or details you can.

Regards,
R.K.

Dear RK,
Thank you for your reply, i did it while increasing the bend angle from 1.5D to 3D. Now the expansion stress valve has been reduced.

Thank you very much for your support.

Bye and take care.

Regards,
Peter.
